Indoor Air Quality
Indoor Air Quality Services
HVAC is about much more than maintaining a comfortable temperature: it’s about helping you and your family breathe easily throughout the year. At Peach Heating & Cooling, we’re proud to offer a full range of indoor air quality products and services to protect your family’s health and improve your quality of life. These services are available in:
Indoor Air Quality Systems
Over the past several decades, the HVAC industry has produced a wide range of indoor air quality (IAQ) products to better serve the needs of different homes and businesses.
Here are some of the systems we install:
- Air Cleaners and Air Purifiers: Think of these products as your frontal assault on air pollutants and contaminants. They’ll work to directly combat the causes of poor air quality.
- Air Humidifiers: Maintaining a good humidity level makes it much easier to breathe, especially for people with allergies or asthma. Humidifiers will also help to preserve your wooden furniture.
- Ventilators: During the cooling season, you no longer have to choose between good ventilation and good cooling. Ventilators work with your air conditioners to cycle in air from outside your home without sacrificing cooling power.
- UV Lamps: Bacteria and other contaminants have a big impact on air quality. Zap them away with these products.
We also offer air quality testing to help identify the causes of air quality issues. Once we have a good handle on the source of any problems in your home, we’ll recommend the right products to deal with those issues.
Duct Cleaning and Sealing
If your home has a forced-air system such as a furnace or air conditioner, the ducts play a vital role by carrying air from that system throughout the building. Clean ducts are safe and efficient ducts that will help you keep cool and breathe easily. Conversely, if your ducts are dirty or clogged with debris, you’ll notice an immediate difference. Professional duct cleaning and HVAC services will help combat those issues and help you save money and live better.
As a rule, we recommend having your ducts cleaned every three to 10 years, depending on smoking, pets, and general home cleanliness. A telltale sign of dirty ducts is dust or dirt coming out of vents; if you can see it, give us a call right away.
During the cleaning process itself, we’ll start by opening up the duct system. Our HVAC service technicians use special brushes to dislodge dust and debris without damaging the ducts themselves, then blow it all into a disposal bag using high-powered vacuum technology. Finally, we’ll verify the seal of your ductwork.
Once the job is done, you should notice a significantly cleaner smell in the air as well as reduced symptoms for residents with asthma and allergies. If the dust in the ducts was significant enough to cause energy efficiency issues, you’ll see the difference on your next utility bill as well. As long as you take steps to keep your home clean, your ducts should stay clean and efficient for years to come.
